The program I am trying to edit mp3's with overflows. Anyway, the music starts after a while, so I hope you like it.

Huge annoyance today! The sleazy local mayor wanted to pay tonight's musicians half now and half in two month's time. The violinist Kyriakos Gouventas is not stupid, and is not coming to the island. Fortunately we have the SOAS Ad Hoc Rebetiko Orchestra, or most of them, here. So the concert will not be the expected one, but I hope it will still be good. Recordings will become available eventually.

I'm in my hotel on Hydra after a dreadfully slow journey (the hydrofoil had a tummy-ache) and joy of joys, their WiFi connection is good. I think I will go and have an ouzo.

I'm off to Greece tomorrow morning, as I am going to the Hydra Rebetiko Gathering.
I'm hoping to get even more recordings of my favourite obscure music, and will try to blog some while I am away, but will be depending on open WiFi connections being available. I'll definitely blog some when I get back.

The next step is to proofread the scans, and correct any mis-scans. This is very time consuming, and might as well be done in parallel with some more translation.
